(Freedom.news) The collective administrations of the last four presidents – George H. W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama – combined with liberals and neoconservatives in Congress, have pushed the country to brink of debt collapse and constitutional destruction, says Pastor Chuck Baldwin, writing at the Western Journalism Center.
“Can America survive another eight years of liberal/neocon domination of Washington, D.C.?” he wrote. “The past seven presidential administrations (Bush, Sr. – Obama) and congresses (Republican and Democratic) have taken the United States to the brink of oppression–and maybe destruction. That’s 28 years (counting 2016) of continuous domination by liberal Democrats and neocon Republicans. And make no mistake about it: there is virtually NO DIFFERENCE between liberal Democrats and neocon Republicans. They work in tandem.”
There can be little doubt that Baldwin is correct; the country has most certainly grown poorer, more heavily in debt and less free during the time period he mentions.
Consider these facts:
— The national debt, now at more than $18.4 trillion, has grown by more than eight trillion dollars just since Barack Obama took office. The national debt grew the second most during George W. Bush’s presidency.
— Privacy – once one of the most cherished of our rights – is virtually a thing of the past, thanks to our own willingness to post anything and everything about our lives on social media, as well as the federal government’s insatiable appetite to know everything about us.
— The United States is known around the world as being a leader – for incarceration; more even than China and Russia.
— For the past 15 years, U.S. job growth and wages has essentially been a zero-sum game – no improvement at all.
— Under Obama especially (though far from limited to him alone), the U.S. regulatory machine, via the massive bureaucracy, has exploded. Obama’s coup de grace was Obamacare; now it’s official – we are all heavily regulated from cradle to grave (and from sun-up to sun-up). There is nothing we can do in our daily lives that isn’t decided upon, overseen or regulated by a local, state or federal rule (sometimes all three entities).
— Our country has been in a perpetual state of war since the first Gulf War in 1991 (remember all those “no fly zones”?).
What is truly amazing is that the country – those few who do vote, anyway – continue to elect the same people to Congress and the White House, over and over and over again (the incumbency rate is something like 90 percent).
Even more amazing is this: Most Americans will tell you two things that make the incumbency rate a real head-scratcher: 1) They hate Congress (but think their own representative and senator is okay); and 2) the majority believes the country’s headed in the wrong direction.
The latest WND.com/Clout Research survey shows that the dramatic dissatisfaction that Republican voters felt toward the Obama administration since early in his first term has spread to include all of Washington,” said Fritz Wenzel, chief of Clout Research, WorldNetDaily reported.
Too much regulation, too little freedom, too much spying, too little privacy, too much Washington, too little state leadership – and all brought to us by the same liberal Democrat/neocon Republican politicians who, together, essentially form a single big government, top-down, liberty-killing political entity.
It’s no wonder that, so far anyway, this campaign cycle has been defined by “political outsiders.”
The question is, should one of them win, will he or she be capable of changing our course?
If so, they will need the support of We the People. Here’s one constitutional solution.
