The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution states that all Americans have a God-given right to keep and bear arms for personal self-defense and as a means of resisting government tyranny. What happens, though, if one day the government completely ignores the Second Amendment and bans the possession of firearms in all fifty states? Of course, this is an extreme example, but it may very well happen one day. Several cities and states are already doing everything that they possibly can to separate the people from their firearms, with zero regards for their freedoms outlined in the Constitution. And without guns for self-defense, how is one supposed to protect oneself?
The website Survivopedia.com published an article answering that very question, going into detail on how you can still defend yourself if firearms, for whatever reason, are not an option. Edged weapons, like knives and swords, should be one of the first weapons you consider using due to the fact that they are both highly effective and can be made from a wide variety of material, including flint, obsidian, bronze, arsenic copper-bronze, tin-bronze, and iron. As far as steel is concerned, there are three types that you might consider taking advantage of. The first is Damascus steel, which has roots that date back to the 5th century BC and produces quality blades through a process of heating, hammering, and cooling. Carbon steel is another option, which can be a good choice but will rust if exposed to air and moisture. Finally, you can look into stainless steel, which is extremely durable and comes in many grades and finishes.
Edged tools that can be used as weapons in the event that firearms are not an option include farm tools, bayonets, daggers, small knives, swords, spears, throwing stars, and axes or hatchets.
Of course, you don’t need a weapon with a sharp edge to deal a lot of damage. Indeed, blunt force weapons can be just as effective. Objects like canes, clubs, bats, walking sticks, maces, and chains can all be used to fend off attackers and deal a tremendous amount of bodily harm. Notably, the key difference between sharp-edged weapons and blunt force weapons is that sharp-edged weapons deal damage by cutting, while blunt force weapons deal damage via their sheer weight.
“In a time when all private firearm ownership is banned or illegal, the above are a few alternatives for weapons that might be put into service to protect your family and loved ones,” Survivopedia explains. “Almost anything can be used as a weapon regardless of the situation. As with prisons and jails, you only need a creative mind and the will to have a weapon in order to get around any law or force used to try and take away your ability to defend yourself.”
As previously mentioned, the people of the United States may not be very far away from a society that forces them to turn to other objects for self-defense rather than firearms. The progressive left is hellbent on not only doing away with the Second Amendment, but also minimizing the number of Americans that are armed with a gun. If only they understood that this will only make the people of our country less safe. (Related: Gun control is incredibly popular among people who live under tyranny and oppression – don’t they get it?)
What it comes down to is the simple fact that the leftists do not believe in your right to be self-reliant. They detest the concept of individualism and want to create a society where the government is always the solution. This is why they are so hostile towards your right to own a gun – because it empowers you and not the bureaucracy. Unfortunately for them, even if they do one day succeed in taking away our firearms, the American people will still find a way to fight.
